On Saturday, January 20, 2018, Sherbrooke Village hosted their annual “Volunteer Appreciation Party” at the St. Mary’s Lions Hall.
Donors and volunteers were treated to a wonderful dinner, (prepared by members of St. Paul’s Catholic Church), refreshments, snacks, gift bags, music and a slideshow of the volunteers in action.
Sherbrooke Village Ex. Director, Stephen Flemming addressed the 140 attendees expressing his true appreciation saying, “The Village and community are a better place because of what you do.” He went on to say, “If the world becomes a better place tomorrow it will be with the help of volunteers.”
Flemming gave a short presentation regarding new plans and initiatives for the Village going forward.
Lloyd Hines, MLA Guysborough - Eastern Shore - Tracadie was quoted as saying, “What a wonderful group of dedicated Sherbrooke Village volunteers. Folks like this are the lifeblood or our communities.”
St. Mary's Warden Mike Moser added, “It is always a pleasure to represent the Municipality of the District of Saint Mary’s at events like this one tonight. Recognizing the volunteers who support Historic Sherbrooke Village, and the significant contribution they make to our community is very important.”
